Ed Avery – CPT
Ed Avery has a vast experience provides him with the ability to help FR client’s meet their short and long term fitness and physical goals.
Ed has over 10 years experience in personal and group training as well as training education and lifetime of endurance (principally running) competition. Ed worked as a master trainer at multiple local fitness facilities and started Avery Fitness in the Nationwide Plaza Wellness Center. Ed’s one-on-one trainees have included a range of individuals including those with varying physical limitation goals as well as competitive athletes looking for a physical advantage. His experience also includes group training and exercise sessions. Ed utilizes a variety of modalities and styles of training.
In 2008, Ed has served at The Ohio State University in the World Instructor Training School’s Personal Fitness Trainer Program as a training instructor, co-instructor, practical examiner and written exam proctor. Taking place over 10 weeks, this program sought to certify new trainers using both practical and classroom curricula. Ed has taught a diverse group of traditional and nontraditional students seeking greater practical knowledge in exercise instruction.
Ed began endurance competition in junior high with the half-mile and continued to compete through his years in cross country and track as a scholarship athlete at Miami University. He specialized in the steeplechase as a leader in the MAC. He continues to compete in post-collegiate competitions such as road races, races affiliated with Nike’s Columbus Olympic Club and most recently Pump & Run events around Central Ohio.
